Along with being a Realtor for the last 20+ years, I have been working in the Title Insurance industry. I first started my career as a copy shooter for First American Title, then moved into abstracting within the first 3 months. Over the last 25 years I've been a residential title examiner, hybrid title examiner working both commercial and residential transaction on a volume scale, moving up to a Title Officer over the last 9 years. I have extensive knowledge of the examination process as well as identifying clouds in title, and assessing situation in title to provide reasonable resolution without causing claims.
My experience includes the following:
Examination of over 70 counties in the State of Texas. Major Cities: Houston, Dallas/Fort Worth, San Antonio, Austin, El Paso, and the Rio Grande Valley.
Streamlining examination process from use of abstractors to single seat examination
Writing codes for Schedule B & C
Writing commitments in a uniform manner as I did at Fidelity National Title Plant in Houston when they purchased LandAmerica in 2008. At the time it was a free for all on how all title commitments were produced. Each brand had a different way of showing exceptions on Schedule B, as well as items shown on Schedule C. As I was one of the few residential examiners working all brands, I came up with a uniformed title commitment. Made life easier for all examiners to know each commitment was to look pretty much the same from one subdivision to another.
Expert in interpreting and reviewing of Divorces, Probated Wills, Affidavits, Trust Agreements, Corporate entity documents, as well as Residential and Commercial Surveys.
Building bases/template for residential additions and subdivisions.
Policy preparation and remittance
